Sex and relationship therapy
Sexual difficulties can be difficult to talk about and affect the way we feel about others and ourselves. Sex and relationship therapy focuses on how to resolve your concerns in a supportive, non-judgemental way by providing a safe and comfortable environment to explore positive resolutions so you have a happy sex life.
Counselling is offered for any issue that is worrying you and does not have to be of a sexual nature. I have provided counselling and emotional support to people over many years and continue to in a part-time role as a social worker in an intensive care unit and emergency department of a major Melbourne hospital. Much of my social work practice involves trauma counselling, grief and loss support and crisis intervention. Although the nature of the work in a busy hospital setting varies from sexual counselling, I work across both roles with empathy and respect for my clients and their lived experiences.
Telehealth, Skype and phone sessions
People living in rural or remote areas may not have face-to-face access to sexual therapists or counsellors or prefer to consult someone outside their locality for privacy concerns. As a Medicare approved provider of psychological services I can offer rebated sessions for people living in certain rural and remote areas in Australia if they have a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. I also provide Skype and phone sessions without the need for a GP referral which is an ideal way to access counselling if locality or accessbility is problematic for you. Payment is required prior to the sessions and we can discuss this beforehand.
